Plus 2 and snowing/sleeting and probably raining when driving in.

Rain it certainly did at Fontwell yesterday..

Here am I desperately trying to get one more run in to 3 novice hurdlers who have all won one race apiece and have one chance to run with a penalty before the end of the season (next Saturday), and all want good ground..

Yesterday we were trying to give Abbreviate a chance to win again at Fontwell.. Good ground forecasted until a call from their ever efficient Clerk of the course Ed Arkell to warn me that a heavy band of rain was going to hit the racecourse from 11am.

Abbreviate’s owners Keith and Liz Ellis and I decided not to send their horse.. Ed was right as it tipped down and the ground was awful.

David Bass was in this morning. We worked a few and jumped a few more..

We jumped Ascotdeux Nellerie, Aunty Ann, Charbel, Darna, Faerie Reel, Kilty Caul, King Simba, Monkhouse, Patsys Castle, Plan Again, Same Ole Trix, Mr Brinkley, Vital Evidence and Younevercall... Jumping was cancelled due to snow.. only Darna jumped late morning.

Roger and Anthea Collinge, Alan and Laura Hill, Sue Roberts and Alex Robertson were all here for a morning on the gallops and breakfast as booked through CD Tours.

Norman Carter was also here to see his horses Rhianna, Sunblazer and his KBRP horses Silver Eagle, Milord, Taras Rainbow and Mor Brook.

We don't have any runners today.. We were thinking of running Charbel at Ayr in their Scotttish Champion hurdle but we are now heading to Punchestown for their 2 mile Novice hurdle on Tuesday week.

We hope to have three runners tomorrow, weather permitting. The Drinkymeister and Champagne To Go run at Wetherby while Faerie Reel runs at Stratford. For my Thoughts on their chances please click here.

The Cotswold Vale County Fair and Point to Point hold their point to point meeting at Andoversford tomorrow; Archie has a ride in the pony race.. Big family day out and then I head to Stratford. Now Off.. Wetherby inspect

The Scottish Grand National today.. Somebody might not be feeling their best later tonight.. If you are a Scotsman then perhaps you should click here and listen to this little ballard.. Enjoy..
