Plus 9 and dry when driving in.

It all felt rather strange yesterday. No cricket and no tennis to watch..

We had Sabu riding out here again this morning.

Sabu is a Japanese event rider who enjoys his visits to Thorndale. A slightly different discipline riding racehorses to event horses, but he has adapted well.. My team here also enjoy his visit as he always welcomes them with a bow. Manners..

Also riding out this morning were Max Cowley and Zack Davidson. Zack who was here last winter as my second travelling person now works for LRT.

Graham Potts our vet was in this morning. Yes those Tuesday visits have started again. There were no movers or shakers in this weeks BHA handicap charts..

Accidents happen in racing yards and this one was slightly freakish..

George Savill my head lad fell off his horse on Saturday. An easy fall yes, but while on the ground the horse he was riding stepped on his finger.. it took the top quarter of his finger clean off….

George has worked in racing for some years and has plenty of experience and as he said it all happened slowly but horses are heavy animals and their shoes are metal.. not a good combination when they meet a finger..

Poor George had a operation yesterday and of course he will be fine but he is currently walking round the yard bandaged to the elbow..

Norman Carters Diamond Gait returned to the yard this morning having spent her summer with John and Penny Perriss.. She looks well..

I am heading to Essex tonight. Yes the county of my birth. Staying with Warwick and Karen Newbury. I am in Newmarket early tomorrow.

Who this this.

Why do they call it a TV 'set' when there is only one?
