Plus 8 and dry when driving in.
If you don’t settle you will never win a race?
Well on that note Imperial Icon needs to learn to settle..
He is very chilled at home but yesterday he must have thought he was attending a pop concert with a full backing of crowds and an orchestra.. as he was on fire. It was Uttoxeter, not The O2.
David Bass struggled to settle him, in fact he hardly succeeded…. Imperial Icon needs more racing to learn.. or was it a case of being over excited on his first day back at school.
David Bass, Ciaran Gething (rode a winner at Fakenham yesterday), Harry Beswick, Chester Williams and the ex jockey Jason Maguire were into ride out.
We worked a fair few horses this morning and jumped Station Master and Drumreagh.
There is rain about but sadly it looks like it is not going to be as much as we anticipated..
We have 7 runners over the weekend. 3 at Stratford today and 3 at Ffos Las and 1 at Sedgefield tomorrow..
At Stratford we run The Bull McCabe, Mon Palois and Diamond Gait and at Ffos Las we run Lady Of The Night, Lots Of Luck and Getaweapon.. At Sedgefield we run Dandy Dan..For my thoughts on all my runners please click here.
British Champions Day at Ascot.. One of the finest days racing of the flat season and one of their last.. No crowds, no buzz but ITV will I am sure present it brilliantly.. all 6 races..
Here is a cheeky one for the weekend.
She was standing in the kitchen cooking my soft boiled egg for breakfast, wearing only the tee shirt she had slept in. When I walked in almost awake she said calmly "you have got to make love to me this very moment!!"
My eyes lit up and I thought I am either dreaming or this is my lucky day.
Not wishing to waste a moment I embraced her that then gave it all I had, right there on the kitchen table.
Afterwards she said "Thanks" and returned to the stove still with her tee shirt round her neck.
Happy but a little puzzled I asked "what was all that about" and she explained "The egg timer is broken"
