Plus 4 and dry when driving in. Relief to see no snow on the high ground.

Crabbie's and Aintree did a pretty good job entertaining us yesterday at The Sky Garden.

Nick Luck and Cornelius Lysaght interviewed and compared while Laura Wright sang. Stunning location and what views..the helicopters were flying past at the same height.. the down side the acoustics were dreadful so listening to the interviews was not easy unless you were sat under the microphone. ...talking sitting.. I was placed between Dominic Hart (head of sport Mirror group)and Patrick Weaver (racing editor Daily Express) with Jason and Lauren Maguire, Ewan McAlpine, Clare and Tony Calvin also on the table.

The Last Samuri has been allotted 10.8 which is a ideal weight. TLS will now run at Doncaster on March 5 in The Grimthorpe Chase and then head to Aintree. In a perfect world.

On the way up we bumped into Ed Hawkins who owned the prolific winner Drumstick with me some years ago and on the way home on the same train was George Bailey.. no relation.

David Bass was in for a couple of lost this morning. We worked many and a video can be seen here. A video of a few schooling can be seen here.

Philip, Sally and Joe Large  plus Dougie Farrel were here for a morning on the gallops and breakfast and they were joined by Carol Bailey who was here second lot to see her KBRP horses Boolavard King and Our Belle Amie. John and Liz were here to see their horse Net Work Rouge while Mark and Melinda Laws were also here to see their KBRP horse Mor Brook and their own Battle Dust.

The Cheltenham Tattersalls Sales take place tomorrow and I will be heading there this afternoon to see the horses that are for sale tomorrow.

Two seniors, Elsie and Edna, are chatting at the Retirement Village...

Elsie: "That nice George Johnson has asked me out for a date. I know you went out with him last week, and I wanted to talk with you about him before I give him my answer."

Edna: "Well, I'll tell you. He shows up at my unit punctually at 7pm, dressed like such a gentleman in a fine suit, and he brings me such beautiful flowers! Then we go outside and what's there? a limousine, uniformed chauffeur and all. He takes me out for dinner; a marvellous dinner, lobster, champagne, dessert, and after-dinner drinks. Then we go see a show.. let me tell you Dorothy, I enjoyed it so much I could have died from pleasure!

So we come back to my unit and that's when he turns into an animal, completely crazy, he tears off my expensive new dress and has his way with me THREE times!!"

Elsie: "Goodness gracious!...so you are telling me I shouldn't go?"

Edna: "No, No, No!...I'm just saying wear an old dress
