Plus 13 and wet when driving in. Yes we had rain overnight.

The rain arrived just in time at Warwick to allow Rhaegar to run in their last race the bumper yesterday.

I walked the course or rather drove and got out at the areas I was concerned about from their Saturday nights meeting .. It was just about OK and then it rained.

Rhaegar is a huge chasing sort who wanted every bit of rain that arrived. We love this horse and he showed why when winning impressively.

Hats off to Grahame and  Diana Whateley as this horse has been around here for the best part of two seasons. Patience is a virtue and yesterday their patience was rewarded.

Rhaergar has now gone home for the summer with Annabel Murphy, whose husband Aiden bought him as a 3 year old.

Our other runner in the bumper El Presente ran a blinder.

Both horses were very green and EP showed he was far more babyish than Rhaegar but ran through to finish a most encouraging third.

He is entered at next weeks Goffs sales and I just wonder if he will go.. I believe he will  staying here now that he has shown more on the racecourse than at home..

The traffic was horrid again for the Steer-Fowlers.. It seems that when ever I run one of their horses the roads become grid locked.. They arrived at Southwell (from Devon) just as Such A Legend was jumping the third last (in front).

SAL ran a blinder but finished second.. beaten by a progressive hurdler (who was beaten easily last time by Rocky Treasure) who was having his first run over fences.. SAL also heads to the Goffs Sales next week and showed that he will give somebody a great deal of fun in years to come.

David Bass was in this morning for two lots.

There really is not much going on here bar steam cleaning.. the top barn is empty and the bottom one is seeing empty stables as more horses head out to grass.. this rain will encourage grass growth..

We have three runners today at Worcester. You’re a Lady, Jupiters Gift and Billy Elliott.. All three horses are good ground or fast ground horses.. If they run then here are my thoughts on their chances..

I am in London today. Harry Bailey is leaving the country next week to start working in Australia for Gai Waterhouse, so today is my last chance to see him..

Jack Jones is heading to saddle at Worcester today..

This election campaign is all so false.. well the promises are, but there is one that made me laugh.. Teresa May is encouraging me to go to Chepstow and Ffos Las more often by pledging to remove the toll charges over the Severn.. whatever next?

Brilliant body art video..
