Plus 9 and dry when driving in.

Nam Hai ran well at Haydock; he looked like he was going to be placed but just ran out of steam half a furlong from home. He finally finished 7th but considering it was his first run for a year and in a very competitive flat race it was hugely encouraging. This half brother to Upgrade will make a very decent hurdler.

Cherry Jones called in yesterday afternoon to pat Twelve Roses and Mat.

Andy and Ali Sullen called in during evening stables last night to see their horse Aliandy who was second at Uttoxeter on Thursday.

They also popped down to the field to see Charingworth and say good bye to him as he heads off this afternoon to a new home for a long and happy retirement. We shall always remember Charingworth fondly as he won at Cheltenham for us last year.

This morning we worked a few while Thady and Zoe Voorspuy, Edward Lucas and Poppy Fildes called in for a charity morning on the gallops followed by breakfast.

John Benson was here third lot to see his Our Belle Amie and the Kayf Tara grey gelding while Paul and Helen Nicholson called in to see the Kayf Tara gelding and then Iain and Angela Bell called in to see Silver Eagle, Knockanrawley and Our Belle Amie… All these horses are part of our KBRPs and Peter Kerr was here too.

Julia Baldanza calle in fourth lot to see her horse Grand March work with Silver Eagle

Harry Bailey and I are heading to the Millennium Stadium this evening to watch New Zealand play France... yes aren’t we lucky..

Paul and Elizabeth Kellar very kindly gave us their tickets as they have a more important game to watch tomorrow.. Thanks Paul and Elizabeth, we will enjoy.

It is some weekend of sport.. and we must not forget that racing holds their Champions Day at Ascot.. Top racing and top Rugby.

We have one runner all weekend and that is down in Ffos Las. Kilty Caul heads there and if you would like to know my thoughts on her chances please click here.

An Englishman walks into a bar, he's all alone! the Irishman, Scotsman and Welshman are all at the Rugby World Cup.
