Minus 3 and dry when driving in.

I enjoyed watching Emma yesterday..It was a good match to watch.. she played well, although I was not impressed with her purple blancmange outfit!

Further tennis news..Cameron Norrie won

All race meetings off today.. no surprise there.

An enjoyable supper with Michael and Mary Dulverton last night.

Headlines in todays Racing Post.. Cheltenham entries down 35%.. Frankly I am not surprised..

Early closing entries I believe are to blame..It is an expensive drip feed on owners Weatherbys accounts, so unless you are really sure your horse is good enough, why enter..  there are other targets away from Cheltenham.... Too many imponderables.. Ground, competition and the lure of the big meeting fading as for many it is too uncomfortable?.. Why finish 5th when you might win elsewhere?

The Cheltenham Festival is still the best 4 days racing of the year, but the racecourse needs to be encourging owners to run, not overcharging them?..The mind set is changing.. A change of policy needed?

The weather looks like breaking for the weekend.. Hopefully Lingfield will go ahead on Sunday as 6 months planning to have Two For Gold ready to try and reclaim his trophy is one of our top priorities....

I am also sponsoring at Cocklebarrow Races on Sunday.. Lauren Keen Hawkins, who looks after TFG, will be riding at Cocklebarrow rather than leading up her boy..She hopes to be riding Inca Rose…. There will be plenty of support from Thorndale as not only do they want to see Lauren ride, but also know that this is a really good day out!!

John Benson sent this over.. The season is coming!!

Talking cricket.. Steve Winter was watching India play New Zealand in Hyderabad yesterday..India won.
