Minus 2 and dry when driving in......Still cold in the mornings and nothing green growing!
Firstly Saturdays funeral service for Prince Philip certainly left powerful images.
Yes I am a Royalist and secondly I am hugely proud of my country, but what we witnessed on Saturday was harrowing, tear jerking, but also brilliant.
Harrowing watching our Queen sitting there in grief all on her own and brilliant that we staged an event that no other country in the world could do. Timing and pageantry.
We should be proud, and on that note for those of you who think we should be chopped in half as a country might like to read this article by Neil Oliver
The Queen has had a torrid time as to add to all her woes her great racing friend Sir Michael Oswald died over the weekend..
Moving on..
The Bull McCabe won well in his two horse race at Stratford yesterday.. It is 2 from 2 for him at that course..It was always going to be a tricky race, but he did it well and jumped for fun.. Chasing now for him..
We ran The Bull McCabe there because Stratford do a good job on their ground, and frankly their clerk of the course Nessie Chanter was honest enough to add the words good to firm in places into her going description..It says a great deal for her as most clerk of the courses would have called it good all over.
Thrilled for his owners John and Laura Garrett who run this horse under the name of Park View.
Sadly Prince Llywelyn was not on a going day and was pulled up.. Peter and Bertie Bennett-Jones there to support, but to no avail.. A few drinks in the car park saved their day!
Monday morning and some very fresh horses..
Less to ride out as we have pulled stumps on quiet a few horses as with no rain on the horizon, the ground has gone against many.. and with their summer holidays starting and the season finishing on Saturday it is time to stop .. sadly earlier than we would have hoped for.
We are into the last week of the 2020/2021 jumps season and it all finishes up at Sandown on Saturday.. We hope to have two runners there.. Younevercall and El Presente..
Tim Caven, Daughter Hannah, husband William Paul and Grandson Arthur, Granddaughter Sofia here to see Tim's KBRS horses Balleticon, Younevercall and Hendra House.
We do have a couple of runners today or rather tonight Market Rasen.
Arthurs Sixpence and Shinobi head there and for my thoughts please click here.
Don’t regret growing older as it is privilege denied to many.... a great quote..
