Plus 11 and dry when driving in.. Day Three of Royal Ascot.
General Picton ran well to finish second at Uttoxeter yesterday. It was his first run over fences and frankly I was delighted with the way he jumped and ran.. He has plenty to learn and one way to go and that is better.
Over at RA again good racing.. A better day for Aiden O’Brien and an even better for one for Sir Michael Stoute whose horse Poets Word beat the supposedly invincible Cracksman.

When I was far younger I used to play cricket for Dick Hawkins at Everdon.. Dick had the most beautiful private cricket ground and it was a joy to play on.
Dick is long gone but his wife Anne died recently and it is her memorial service this afternoon at St Mary's Church, Blakesley, NN12 8RA, at 2.30pm.
Marriage part 2..
Husband and wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th wedding anniversary!
The husband yells, 'When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads, 'Here Lies My Wife -- Cold As Ever'!'
'Yeah?' she replies. 'When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads, 'Here Lies My Husband -- Stiff At Last'!'
