PLus 9 and dry when driving in. Day 5 of Royal Ascost

What a week it has been for RA. Great weather and great racing. Huge crowds and well behaved ones .. so far. Our sport has shown itself off well.

Yesterdays highlights were another winner for the ever dependable Mark Johnson, a winner for the boys in blue via Charlie Appleby and then what a week for Sir Michael Stoute yet another winner for him.

David Elsworth rounded the day off with a winner but the highlights for me were Jessica Harrington showing winning the Irish Guineas was no fluke and Ed Walker sending out his first RA winner.. a good start for this young Lambourn  trainer.

Here this morning David Bass was in  and rode work on Net Work Rouge

Thank you all for the messages re Little Chunk.. so sad and he will be much missed.

We have just the one runner this weekend and that is Involve at Worcester tomorrow and for my thoughts on his chances please click here.

The last ODI tomorrow and one England should win and whitewash the Australians.. Good news..?

England play Panama at Football tomorrow..

Toward the end of the Sunday sermon on Forgiveness, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?"

A few held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question.

All responded this time, except one man ... grumpy old Walter Barnes.

"Mr. Barnes, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"

"I don't have any!" he replied gruffly.

"Mr. Barnes, that is very unusual. How old are you?"

"Ninety-eight!" he replied.

The congregation stood up and clapped their hands.

"Oh, Mr. Barnes, would you please come down in front and tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years and not have a single enemy in the world?"

The old man tottered down the aisle to the pulpit, turned around, faced the congregation.

He said "I outlived every one of them assholes."

Then he calmly returned to his seat.

Have a great weekend and see you on  Monday.
