Plus 8 and dry when driving in.
Mr Grey Sky pulled far too hard yesterday on that heavy ground at Ffos Las.
He jumped well, but was still hard on the steel 3 from home and frankly wore himself out.. He has not run for a year, but the important thing is that he will have learnt a great deal after yesterdays experience.
Mention of the word experience; racing in Wales at the moment is not something to write home about..
Talking about writing.. Fakenham were brilliant on Tuesday..
Not that I want to hark back on what happened, but speaking to Michael and Mary Dulverton yesterday they had nothing but praise for the way they were looked after by the team at Fakenham Racecourse.. From the Chairman Ian Mason and the Chief Executive Officer and Clerk of the Course David Hunter right down to the hugely efficient vets David Feneley, Toby Kemble and Howard Kellock.who look after and cared for True Glory.. A huge thank you to Fakenham from us all..
Is there good news for Racing.. We will probably learn more later today..
No jockeys in this morning..
Sad to read of Jim Gordon's death.. Jim had horses with me in my Lambourn days and then had shares in horses with me since I moved here and his most recent one was Blazon.. Jim was always good company, along with his racing mate Jimmy Burns..
We have two runners today. Minella Warrior heads to Market Rasen and Lots Of Luck to Wincanton.. For my thoughts on their chances please click here.
Keep smiling..
Isn't it illegal and wrong that only one company makes the game Monopoly?
Women sometimes make fools of men, but most guys are into the do-it-yourself type.
I was going to give him a nasty look, but he already had one.
Change is inevitable, except from a broken vending machine.
The grass may be greener on the other side but at least you don't have to mow it.
To finish..
Happy birthday to Rosie Vestey..
