Plus 9 and dry when driving in.

You cannot beat racing at Ascot. It is a different class to any other racecourse.. The car park attendants are smiley and helpful and the staff on the course are the same.. You are welcomed..

I hate running two horses in the same race but occasionally needs must.. I was not expecting fireworks from El Presente after his gallant run at Wincanton.. It was a risk to run so soon, but he needs a right handed track and good ground, yesterday he showed the effects of a hard race in the Badger Beer and he pulled up..He will now have a break and reappear in the spring..

Bobhopeornohope on the other hand ran a blinder carrying 12 stone.. He finished 3rd and looked like winning two from home.. happy owners, trainer and jockey.. It was his first run of the season and we can build on that.

Down at Chepstow Grave La Klass ran well to finish 6th..and Picks Lad also ran well to finish 3rd.. This was a really encouraging start for a horse who has taken his time to understand jumping…

Always good to hear from Picks Lad's past owner and breeder Howard Pickersgill..

I bought Picks Lad off him at Goffs Sales in May ..Howard has watched all his work and has been glued to the web cam.. He was delighted as were his new owners John Webber and Richard Sheppard.

David Bass and Ciaran Gething were in to ride out.

We had a busy morning hosting a champagne breakfast for William and Lucy White, Richard and Annabel Amphlett, Ben and Kate Clarke, James and Georgie Wasdell who won their gallops experience being the highest bidder on our auction lot at the Nelson Trust Fundraiser. Branded bottles of champagne were kindly donated by Jeremy Hill Vinotopiawine.

We also welcomed a few owners to see their horses

Mary Dulverton was here to see her horses Arctic Saint, Happygolucky, Idamix, Kyntara, Sandmartin and Sayadam

Dick and Ann Bradford were also here to see their KBRS horse Starvoski

Peter again headed to Ascot for a second day working on our syndicate stand.

We have just the one runner today at Haydock.. Imperial Aura heads there and for my thoughts please click here.

Tomorrow we run Mikhailovich at Uttoxeter and again for my thoghts please click here.

The second ODI in Syndey underway.. Not sure this 3 match series is a good idea.. Over kill of the sport after the T20 World Cup only last weekend... Also hard for England to get motivated after winning it..

I sent the Peterborough Chase Cup back to Huntingdon .. Sadly, unless some miracle happens, it is very unlikely that First Flow will be trying to retain his trohpy as they are still watering at Huntingdon for todays meeting!

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday..

You might enjoy this..

To finish Happy birthday to Rosie Vestey
