Plus 8 and dry when driving in. It felt very autumnal first thing.

Southwell is a friendly track unless you happen to take the wrong turning and you find yourself by the stable gates, but on the wrong side of the security barrier..

Sadly the Doncaster based security guard was not for helping as it was against the law to let me though the portable barrier and into the stable yard.. instead I had to go back and add 4 miles to my journey for what could have been a 10 yard drive.. It was fine last week but then that was not on a Sunday..

In future I will not make the same mistake again..Sundays are off when you come from the Newark direction..We learn.. well at least I did..

Mon Palois finished 3rd.. On the face of it I would have preferred closer, but the race was not run to suit.. two front runners and although they looked like they might come back, they did not..

Whatever it was good to see him jump well and run to the line. It was also good to see His owner Elizabeth Kellar, and of course her husband Paul…

Both have asked me to say how well they were looked after yesterday, and as like last week the racecourse tried in what must be difficult circumstances… So I finish as I started.. Southwell is a friendly track.

Sundays are always busy. My morning started with my weekly video and finished with watching Archie play cricket at Dumbleton...It was ideal as it was on the way home from Southwell.

I also spoke to one owner who is currently staying with his mother in Rhosneigr..

Talking cricket.. It could be an interesting final day at Old Trafford today

Monday morning and fresh horses.. as they should be on a Monday.

Racing news.. Sir Graham Wylie has given up having racehorses in training.. Sad for the sport to see that he has decided to leave, but he and Andrea have been great ambassadors for the sport over the years and hopefully in time they will return.

Alex and Lorraine Carter called in late morning to see Alex's KBRP recent winner Arthur’s Sixpence . Their children Charlie and Gracie patted his winner.. a first winner for Alex.. he won't forget Arthur..

We have one runner today at Market Rasen. El Presente heads there and for my thoughts on his chances please click here.

Earl and Bubba are quietly sitting in a boat fishing, Chewing tobacco and drinking beer when suddenly Bubba says, "Think I'm gonna divorce the wife - she Ain't spoke to me in over 2 months."

Earl spits overboard, takes a long, slow sip of beer and says, "Better think it over ....women like that are hard to find."

Todays non virus video nasty.
