Plus 14 and dry when driving in.

Yesterday was another non dry day.. It poured at Stratford and we were running two horse who we hoped for good ground .. not soft!

The good news is that Mon Palois won for a jubilant Elizabeth Kellar.. It was perhaps not as pretty as we had hoped but it was a worthy win and much needed as Mrs K has been so unlucky with her horse.. Big celebrations behind bars.. well not as you think, but Paul and Elizabeth Kellar have been loyal supporters for years and it was good to see the smiles..

Our other runner Doctor Haze was second.. so all in all it was not a bad day in the office.

Talking office.. a big thank you to Stratford Racecourse for making such an effort..

Both owners and trainers were happy with the way they were looked after, as were staff… Easy when you know how, but what a difference.. no paper bags.. or as I would call nose bags..

Steve from www.sdphotos.co.uk sent the photos of MP jumping

Altiors half sister fetched huge money yesterday at Tattersalls.. It was the final day of the Derby Sale..Walk In The Park progeny made loads..

Thursday and our easy day..

Ed, Kashy and Georgina Hawkings made a first visit to Thorndale to see their horse Talk of the Moon… and Higgs who looked after their last horse with me.. Drumstick..

Annabel Buchan was here late morning to see her two horses Grey Flint and Grey Felix.. Both horses were bred by Annabel’s late husband Iain..Iain had horse with me for well over 20 years.. all home bred bar one....

Annabel brought her cousin Laura Firth for a first visit to Thorndale.. So good to see them

Ben Thompson was here to finally sort our gallop camera out..

We have no runners today..

A few one liners..

My wife claims I’m the cheapest person she’s ever met. I’m not buying it.

Did you know that a raven has 17 rigid feathers called pinions, while a crow only has 16.

The difference between a raven and a crow is just a matter of a pinion.

I told my carpenter I didn’t want carpeted steps. He gave me a blank stair.

What did the surgeon say to the patient who insisted on closing up his own incision? Suture self.

And to finish..

How did you meet your husband..

I’m a pharmacist. He came to buy condoms and asked for XXXXL.

Only after we got married, I realised he stutters!
