I was one very happy trainer yesterday.

Work mornings at this time of year are always exciting. It was good to see the horses moving forward.. watching their work yesterday filled us all with dreams..

I have to admit that this is what this time of year is all about.. dreams.. they are all winners .. only the racecourse can ruin that for us....It was though a stunning day.

David Bass was in this morning, as was Rob Bevis..

Again it is that time of year when we either send the odd horse to Rob for a jumping refresher course or he comes here.. He was here this morning putting a few horses over poles in the big school..

Watching the Andrew Neil Show last night made me realise that a phone call from his editors to appear on his TV slot must be a dreaded call.. He hammered last nights guests..

Talking hammered.. Mrs B had spent most of the yesterday in the car and was pleased with the thought of supper out rather than my cooking..

I decided the newly opened The Stump was worth trying.

On arriving and without a booking it was not difficult to see that it was busy. Busy enough not to be able to get a table.. Good for them, but not for us.. another time..

We headed home via The Seven Tuns in Chedworth.. another local pub under new management.

A drink followed by an excellent supper .. they have a stunning wine list too...so good was supper that I offered an extra lot of 'a morning on the gallops' to their charity dinner in aid if the local Air Ambulance which is being held there tonight.. a sell out evening....
