Plus 2 foggy and dry when driving in.

Well that was something we have not done for many years.. A weekend in London.

Saturday night The Lion King was highly entertaining.

Sunday morning The Imperial War Museum. Archie and I fascinated while Clare wandered around with a fixed expression on her face which only changed when we came the last part of the tour the Lord Ashcroft Galleries..

Last night Olympia with Paul and Clare Rooney, Jason and Lauren Maguire and Ian and Sheila Robson. Great evening. A packed crowd watched The Shetland Grand National, Show Jumping and dog agility.. we then had a tour around the stables and scenes behind the curtain with Ollie and Tom Garner

Saturdays runners did not fare too well in fact Sunblazer heads off for a winter break while Derrintogher Bliss was just awful..

Monday morning and a fresh week

Norman Carter was here second lot to see his horse Sunblazer and his KBRP horse Milord while Paul and Elizabeth Kellar were here to see Elizabeth’s new horse Mon Palois, an Irish point to point winner.. MP (Man from Pau) arrived from Ireland last week and has been in quarantine since.

We have three runners today at Hereford. Texas Forever, Dueling Banjos and Our Belle Amie.. For my thoughts please click here.

Leigh's Blog..

''When The Boss asked me to write this blog I wasn't sure what to write, or if anyone would be interested.

I am very surprised by the feedback I have had and am glad people are enjoying it. I have enjoyed giving my opinions as I think it important that people know what goes on behind the scenes, but these are my opinions and experiences, I am sure when I have had bad experiences in canteens, for example, other people have had top class meals, and when I have had good days others have had bad.

Newcastle on Saturday.. I drove up on Friday as we were in an early race.

This is probably better for the horse as he had chance to recover from the journey and the risk of being stuck in traffic and being late was eliminated.

The traffic wasn't great on Friday and I arrived around 7:45, but at least the stable was all ready for my horse and I quickly got him settled for the night.

The Accomodation is basic but comfortable, spacious and clean. There is a pub across the road which do discounted evening meals, (large piece of fish and chips for £5.50) which was a good end to a long day.

The stable yard is spacious, the horses that stay overnight have large double boxes with deep beds. I have stayed a few times and the horses have always been happy and relaxed.

The canteen is very homely and provide homemade sandwiches and cakes.

On to Hereford today. I had never been there before it was closed, having been there a few times since I wonder why it did...''

Having spent the weekend in London I understand the following..

'' A vicar parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter.

Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses."

When he returned, he found a parking ticket from a police officer along with  this note "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation."
