Plus 7 and damp when waking in Shropshire
Wet at Hereford yesterday was an understatment as I cannot recall such dire conditions, but racing went ahead and we had a winner.
Hollymount Holly was never headed in the bumper. David Bass jumped off in front and returned to the winners enclosure with silks that did not need cleaning!
A welcome winner for her owner John Perriss.. It was in fact his first winner of the season..
John, Aiden Murphy and I loved HMH at the recent Cheltenham Tattersalls sales, as did Ed Bailey who was underbidder.
Racing at Exeter yesterday was called off after three races.. so dire were their weather conditions.
Peter and Thelma Leslie were here third lot to see their KBRP horses Balleticon, Lord Apparelli, Yeavering Belle and Voyburg
Vince Burmingham also called in to see his KBRP horses Commodore Barry, Does He Know, Silver Kayf, Subway Surf and Arthurs Sixpence, and drop off some Christmas sausages for the staff!
We are in Shropshire for the day staying with some mates of Archies.. Mum can't drive!
We have one runner today at Ascot. Shantou Express runs in the bumper and for my thoughts on his chances please click here
To finish thank you for all the lovely messages about Bear.. Hugely missed, but your messages were and are hugely appreciated.
Mick goes to the vet with his goldfish. "I think it's got epilepsy", he tells the vet.
Vet takes a look and says, "It seems calm enough to me".
Mick says, "I haven't taken it out of the bowl yet".
