Plus 9 and raining when driving in.

It was very wet day yesterday and we are heading for another today.. Rain gauge tells me that we have had 111 mm this month so far.. closing on the May record?

Design Icon you little beauty.. You were our second winner of the season..A titanic finish and galvanising ride to say the least. Ciaran Gethings well done.. a great ride.. as they all are when you win?

A great first win for his Peter Kerr led KBRS team of Its Only Money Syndicate.. who are..Paul and Sue Baker, Julie Crissell, Gary Hughes, Kevin MaGrath, Richard and Sheila Mordan, Angelo and Lisa Sanniti, Colin Shefford, Duncan Sinclair, David and Gillian Taylor and Graham and Maria Wiblin-Moreno..

Those who went yesterday certainly made their presence felt.. and heard.. Brilliant to have owners and crowds back on a racecourse

I have to say that was about the only highlight of a rather wet Market Rasen card..Fubar and Shinobi finished down the field, while Guerlain Bellevue was far too green and struggled in the bumper....

I was at Goffs where Another Venture was sold for 20k but has gone to a good home.. George Daly (son of Dermot) is going to Point to Point and Hunter Chase him.. George and AV will have fun together, which is important.

Henry Kimbell and I huddled in the corner keeping dry and warm.. neither of which was that easy.

Trade again strong yesterday..I tried for the top lot but my offering was nowhere near high enough..

Aiden Murphy and I had a good weeks shopping and I came home with 5 gorgeous looking new horses of which 4 are now for sale..You can of course always ring me or Peter Kerr for futher details..

It has been a 'smashing week' at Doncaster for Goffs.. Records a plenty and trade incredibly vibrant..

Why.. Well I am not sure.. the first two days might have been a case of many not sure if trainers would be allowed over to Ireland for their sales this summer (due to Covid), so a bit of early shopping might not have been a bad idea, and the used market was also strong.. there is a huge depth and following for the sport which has to be good news..and there seems to be many wanting to be involved..

PS..

It was also a fun week catching up with fellow trainers in the social hours after the sales..!

Friday morning..

A day in the office! Frankly looking outside perhaps the right place to be today?

A couple who work in the circus go to an adoption agency.

Social workers there raise doubts about their suitability.

The couple produces photos of their 50-foot motor-home, which is equipped with a beautiful nursery.

The social workers then are doubtful about the education that the child would get. "We've arranged for a full-time tutor who will teach the child all the usual subjects along with French, Mandarin and computer skills."

Then there are doubts about raising a child in a circus environment.

"Our nanny is an expert in paediatric welfare and diet."

The social workers are finally satisfied.

They ask, "What age child are you hoping to adopt?"

"It doesn't really matter, as long as he fits in the cannon"

Todays non virus video nasty..
