Plus 9 and dry when driving in.

David Bass was in this morning to ride work..We worked many of the horses.. Yes ramping up their work load now.

This morning we hosted our first CD Tours of the winter..Laura and Mary Brewer, Sharon and Kevin Cooper, Weald Bampton, Noel and Maureen Smyth, Thames Ditton, Suzanne Gorton and Jez Jeavons.

Three years ago John and Veronica Full joined us for a Morning on the gallops as booked through CD Tours and this summer, when Royal Supremo won at Southwell, it was their 13th winner as an owner here, all since that breakfast… So…

Third lot Bunny and Rosy Maitland-Carew were here as was Jason Maguire..Jason was here to see Sainte Ladylime

Mat Steer-Fowler here fourth lot to see The Real Partnerships Miss Gemstone who incidentally John and Veronica Full are involved in.

One of my pet hates about racecourses is the way they look after owners, and then my second gripe is how they look after staff.

I have been banging the drum for free food on all racecourse for racing grooms for some time and today Richard Hughes bangs the same drum in his Racing Post column today..

It is not right that staff should pay, and frankly what is on offer at some racecourse you would not pay that much to feed your dog.. and not sure they would to eat it either! Bear is very fussy..

Yesterdays wedding rehearsal went off well..Pandora and I practiced walking down the aisle .. sadly my emotions got the better of me.. the vicar mentioned that she hoped I would be stronger tomorrow!!

Yes it is James and Pandora’s big day tomorrow so on this occasion don’t expect a blog on Monday as I will be staying over near Newbury after the reception and party and probably not in the right frame of mind to type a few lines.. might do later on Monday morning.

We have one runer tomorrow at Uttoxeter. Minella Warrior runs in the 3rd race and for my thoughts please click here.

Today we say goodbye to Geoff our postman..

Geoff has been delivering our post since we have been here and he has made it up our drive even in the most inclement weather.

Geoff who retires today has given us great service and the PO should be proud of what he has done…we will miss him, but wish him all the best and a very happy retirement.

Have a great weekend and see you next week..

COOL MESSAGE BY A WIFE: Dear Mother-in-law, Don't teach me how to handle my children. I am living with one of yours and he needs a lot of improvement!

When a married man says, I WILL THINK ABOUT IT - what he really means is that he doesn't know his wife's opinion yet.
