Plus 9 and raining when driving in
Rain it certainly did at Cheltenham on Saturday. It was simply an awful day. What was really bizarre was that it was not forecasted to rain… Who on earth knows what our weather holds for us.. not those whose job it is to tell us for sure.
So bad was the ground (through rain) that we did not run Robin The Raven but we did run Rocky’s Treasure and he rewarded us with a cracking performance to finish 3rd. Happy owners which made up for Dueling Banjos on Friday.
Up at Uttoxeter Sean Bowen, who was having his first ride for us, won on Sainte Ladylime.. She was good and a big thanks to Robert Bevis who has been working overtime with her on her jumping.
I watched the race at Cheltenham with Sean’s father Peter who was probably more critical that I could ever be about his sons riding.. He said nothing.
At Wetherby Our Belle Amie was second and ran a most encouraging race for her first attempt over hurdles, but we were beaten by a horse who was ridden by that man Brian Hughes.. again that man has done us.. Not sure I like him….
A big day for our number two jockey Tom Bellamy.. he rode the big race winner on Saturday.. Splash Of Ginge..
Life is all about being in the right place at the right time and Tom was there to do his bit.. Well done Tom you have a very proud Dad and Step Mother in Kerry my PA
No Runners yesterday which meant a quite days racing catching up with owners, friends and some shopping.. Not sure the shopping was that good but anybody who is married or partners a person who has horses in training and are stuck for what to give them for Christmas then try Bluecuckoo.. great cushions in your colours..
Monday morning a new week and we start with one runner at Leicester..
Trojan Star heads there and Saturdays big race jockey Tom Bellamy rides.. For my thoughts on their chances please click here.
Paddy and his two friends are talking at a bar.
His first friend says: "I think my wife is having an affair with the electrician. The other day I came home and found wire cutters under our bed and they weren't mine."
His second friend says: "I think my wife is having an affair with the plumber. The other day I found a wrench under the bed and it wasn't mine."
Paddy says: "I think my wife is having an affair with a horse." Both his friends look at him with utter disbelief. "No, I'm serious. The other day I came home and found a jockey under our bed."
To finish.. King Simba is looking for a non racing home. A lovely horse who would give somebody a great deal of pleasure in ROR classes or just hacking.. Please email or ring if you would like to come and see him..
I am sorry if you are having problems watching the gallop camera.. yes there is a problem which they are trying to sort.
