Plus 5 and dry when waking in my old home county of Essex..

Warwick yesterday, Little Easton this morning..Staying with Warwick and Karen Newbury.. Relations, but no relation to a racecourse..

Warwick (the racecourse) was extremely busy yesterday.. Million in Mind sponsored and their supporters doubled the crowd.. well certainly their cars filled the car park.

Lunch with Ian and Tocky McKie who were there hosting the John Sumner Memorial Chase Veterans Chase..Tocky has leased Yeavering Belle to one of our KBRP's. it was good to see them down from the Borders to support her fathers race.

Our runners all ran well.

Subway Surf was run out of it after the last on the very sticky ground. She finished a very creditable third and will improve for the run.

Aliandy ran a blinder to finish second and will pay the penalty when he is reassessed by the handicapper next week.. yes hate being second!

Down in Wales. Donnie Brasco, who was having his first venture over hurdle also ran a blinder at Chepstow to finish an eye catching third.

Yes they all ran well but no winners..

Thursday is our easy day.. although

We have one runner today at Wincanton. The Bull Mccabe heads there and for my thoughts on his chances please click here.

Why we love our children..

While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt.

Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin.

Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased.

The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said:

'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole he goooes.'
