Plus 4 and damp when driving in.

Today is the day when John Pullen, Cheltenham’s clerk of the course, hopes we will have some decent rain.

Cheltenham will not be the only racecourse hoping for the same.. hmmm.. I am sadly not sure how much is going to arrive?

I lay awake enjoying the sound of rain early this morning, but it was not a noise I heard for long...not because I drifted off to sleep!

Imperial Admiral added his name to horses with wind problems..David said his wind was not good although he showed nothing when tested.. it seems, talking to other trainers, that more and more horses are showing similar tendencies.. so frustrating.

David Bass and Ciaran Gething in to ride out.

Randox Grand National weights came out yesterday. It is not the guessing game it was...  The Dulverton's Happygolucky is rated 152 and that puts him on 10 stone 11..

Paul and Elizabeth Kellar were here second lot to see Elizabeth's horse Faerie Cutlass. (FC was ballotted out at Ludlow this afternoon)

Charlotte and Tony Palmer called in third lot to see their KBRS horses Isle of Gold and General Hubble

Paul Higgs was also here to see his KBRS horses Percy Veering, Sprucefrontiers and Voyburg.

Ed Hawkings (with a 'G') called in late morning on his way to Ludlow to see Talk of the Moon.

"So it's sausages in a kind of fat pancake?'

"It's called a Yorkshire Pudding"

"Ah, ok, so we'll call it sausages in Yorkshire Pudding?"

"No, we'll call it Toad in the Hole"

"Sorry what?"

"And we'll call the dessert..."

"How about just steamed pudding?"

"..Spotted Dick"

"I see..."
