What a weekend. Stunning weather and a stunning wedding at Windsor on Saturday.

Simply stunning was our couple of days away fishing on the Tay at Islamouth with Alan and Jane Parker. Clare and I both caught something as did Paddy and Iona Hoare; in fact we all landed at least one..Modern times mean that all fish head back into the river rather than the table..

Paddy is one of those incorrigible people who is always trying to encourage you to go that extra inch in life.. well he succeeded in persuading me that another foot of line and I would land another fish.. that extra foot of line resulted in me disappearing down a hole and swimming.. Not idea in rivers, especially in waders.. thankfully the life belt blew and I floated to the side..cant say I did not panic capt mainwaring..

Saturdays runner General Picton ran well for a long way.. Now he needs to gain a handicap mark to gvie him a chance of being placed or even better.. winning

Yesterday Mat, Peter Kerr and I wandered around the fields looking at all the horses enjoying their summer holidays.. The horses look great; surely they have never had such a wonderful start to their holidays..
