El Presente made it 3 wins from 4 runs this season..
It was not all plain sailing as EP had to make the running which was not what he wanted to be doing.. He was in front with the most likely of his opposition stalking him and then 2 from home EP pecked on landing which handed the advantage away .. this was EP’s saving grace as he had a horse to chase.. That he did and he went 2 clear jumping the last and won by the same margin..
It was cracking 15 minutes for his lead owner Francis Brooke as he owned and bred Pinta Pinta the winner of the 1.45 at Gowen Park..
No owners in attendance although EP’s breeder Robert Chugg was.. Puffing out his chest?.. Especially after his own horse won the first..
The bumper was run in far softer ground than we expected as it rained all afternoon.. Gerard Mentor who has always shown that he was a capable horse at home ran a blinder to finish 2nd .. Helped by David Bass’s steering which took out the main opposition!
Peter Kerr put the 3 way syndicate together and all three met for the first time yesterday,.. they instantly became friends..
Jane Broad (husband Chris is David Bass’s jockeys agent) in charge of owners at Hereford and she made the experience a good one.. Top lady is Jane
