Plus 6 and dry when driving in. Dry what’s that.. Ask Harry in Sydney?

We were in Shropshire yesterday with Adrian and Samantha Boyes.. Their son Bobby is a great mate of Archie's.. The drive home last night was almost dangerous as so many of the roads were flooded. It rained there for most of the day.

Mat was keeping me posted from Ascot. Inspection, but racing went ahead. It was pretty dire conditions but it is the courses Christmas meeting and one they do so well.

I watched Shantou Express and frankly I was hugely proud of him as he looked to be hating the ground but still ran the race of his life to finish 3rd in the lucky last, the listed bumper.

A happy day for his owners and all were so well looked after by Ascot racecourse.. they really do help and make racing fun.

All weather racing.. No.. Southwell had to cancel yesterdays meeting half way through die to standing water..

A smiling David Bass was in this morning.. he rode a winner at Ascot yesterday..

We jumped Adjourned, Lady Of The Night, Miss Gemstone and I Can't Explain.

No visitors.. a first for a Saturday..

We have just the one runner today and that is First Flow at Ascot. For my thoughts on his chances please click here.

Staff Christmas party tomorrow night.. We start in The Royal Oak in Andoversford and then…?

An explosive weekend..

Paddy and Mick find three grenades, so they decide to take them to a police station.

Mick: "What if one explodes before we get there?"

Paddy: "We'll lie and say we only found two."

Have a good one and see you Monday..
