Minus 1 and dry when driving in.
Firstly I have to admit that I slunk off yesterday afternoon to join Jonathan R-K, Stuart Beaty and Giles Wilson on the banks of the river Wye..
Stuart has a rod on the Wye at Bigsweir every other Thursday, while I have every other Friday..so we don't meet up...
Anyway a text message from Giles to say that Johnny had caught a 12lb fresh salmon was enough of an excuse to go over to celebrate…. My arrival rather stopped their fishing!
It was a rather special and lovely afternoon .. catching up on the last year on the river bank.. with a bottle of lemonade..
Friday morning..
Ian Brotherton and Alex Maton were here second lot to see Ian’s KBRS horses Arthur's Sixpence, Subway Surf, Shinobi and Tantoli.. Alex was here to see his KBRS horse Tantoli.
Mary Davies was here third lot to see her KBRS horses Donnie Brasco and Shantou Express.
Sadly I missed them all as I was already on the way to Newmarket to attend the latest Tattersalls Cheltenham sale..
Which means I shall also miss the first Worcester meeting..
As you all know I am not a ‘’big fan of Worcester’’ so it is respect for Rebecca Davies who has persuaded me to part with some money to sponsor the first race of their new season..The Kim Bailey Racing Syndicates handicap Chase...
Rebecca is somebody I admire as she tries and she could not be more helpful, and rightly deserves my support and not only that, but she has managed to fill every race with a trainer sponsoring a race.. well done Rebecca..
She had a text from a trainer who has a runner in my race which said.. We have a runner in the Kim Bailey Loves the shithole handicap chase.’’. I hope Mrs B will look after my owners.... With 16 runners in the race I am still trying to work out who sent Rebecca that text!!?
