Plus 11 and dry when driving in.
It rained at Bangor on Friday night and Saturday morning and the ground changed to soft. Sonneofpresenting who would have been favourite for his chase came home without stepping one foot on their racecourse...Frustrating but we all know that one.
Sonneofpresenting is by Presenting and like many of his offspring prefers faster ground.. there will be other days this summer for him.
Yesterday was spent with Nicholas and Cherry Jones firstly wandering around their stunning stud looking at their mares and offspring including a 3 year old filly by Fame and Glory out of Cinderella Rose who heads this way in September and secondly a perfect Sunday lunch.. A rarity as we had no runners yesterday.
Clare spent yesterday watching Archie play cricket at St Edwards in Oxford in the under 12s schools county games against Gloucester Oxfordshire and Wales for the Wynyard Gibb Cup.. She is slowly learning to appreciate this great game…?
Not sure this made good reading ..
We have no runners today and most of this week will be spent up at Doncaster where Goffs are holding their annual Spring sale.
A lesson to be learned from typing the wrong email address!!
A Northern couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter.
They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier.
Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Newcastle and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day.
The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife.
However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realising his error, sent the e-mail.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Lancashire a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral.
He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack.
The widow decided to check her e-mail expecting messages from relatives and friends.
After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted.
The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:
