Plus 16 and dry when waking in Labastide-Paumes France.. Frankly it is in the middle of nowhere...Clare and I will be here until Monday.
Mat had a good day at Warwick yesterday.. good thing he had a driver!! Richard Sheppard and John Webber would lead the Pope astray!!
What revelations in the papers yesterday, another big bust up in racing. Gigginstown and Willie Mullins.. 60 horses on the move..
Was it really all about Willie Mullins raising his training fees? I wonder.. Whatever, fees do have to go up and apparently Willie has not raised his for 10 years.. Cost have esculated since then.. My costs alone have risen by 12% from this time last year, so what it would be would it be over the last 10 years? Frightening thought.
Marcus Miller was at Thorndale this morning.. Marcus called in to see and meet the two Maggies Charity horses Another Venture and Biscuit. Racing For Maggies is a great way to start your racing career as an owner. Fun and helping charity, what better.
Tim Richardson was also in the yard to see his KBRP horses Milord and Knockanrawley.
Phil and Lisa Horsham also came to have a look around Thorndale.
We have one runner at Ascot today. Yes flat racing again.. Sunblazer runs in the lucky last.. For my thoughts on his chances please click here.
A reminder our "5 to Follow" competition closes later today.
More from yesterday..
