Plus 9 and dry when driving in.

The ground was heavy at Chepstow yesterday.. And Chepstow can really get heavy.. although probably not as bad as Ffos las but..

Doctor Haze ran well to finish second. I watched the race with Philip Dando who bred DH and sold him to me.. he too was please with his run.. A chaser in the making.

Glenforde ran well enough to finish 4th. He looked happy and jumped well but the ground sort of sorted him out turning for home, but all in all a good first run over fences and one he should progress from.

Alfie’s Choice just hated the ground and will now wait on better ground.. It was far from what he ran on at Wetherby a couple of weeks ago when he was second.

Sunblazer at Kempton last night..A comendable third..

A night on BBC Test match special.. No SKY only bt.. not for me..Cook out early but we rallied, Vince run out for 83.. silly when going so well

The BHA wind notification has caused a stir in some quarters but we need to watch out for the future as the racing side of the BHA is being run by a few Aussies, who like their Cricket team like to stick it up us!

Bearing that in mind, this email that came over from son Harry who has been working for Gai Waterhouse and is now with Darren Weir..

‘’Hello dad!! Just reading your blog.. on the subject of Dec wind ops. In AUS you have to declare nearly everything… x-over nose band, whether the horse has special shoes, lugging bits... and whether you are changing your usual riding tactics!..’’

I have to say the latter is difficult, especially when most of my jockeys don’t both to listen to my instructions!

This came from my brother in law Michael.. yes he has a different take on life..

“In my next life I want to live my life backwards.

You start out dead and get that out of the way.

Then you wake up in an old people's home feeling better every day.

You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, and then when you start work, you get a gold watch and a party on your first day.

You work for 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.

You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school. You then go to primary school, you become a kid, you play.

You have no responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born.

And then you spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa-like conditions with central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day and then Voila! You finish off as an orgasm!”

There is further good news.. The gallops camera is working again...
