We have become obsessed by the weather... Drought, Snow, Rain, frost you name it and The Times came up with this..yesterday

and this today

How do you get involved in racing if you have no previous background with horses..I am always willing to help but this email from Alex has me stumped..

'My name is Alex and I am contacting you with the hope of gaining any information or pointers regarding a career in the national hunt bloodstock industry.

I am at a slight crossroads professionally and see bloodstock as a career where I can combine my enthusiasm for horse racing with experience I possess in operations and communications-based roles. Having not worked in racing before, I know I could certainly benefit from any guidance given.

Having developed a fascination with national hunt bloodlines and interest in the sales process, I would love to learn more and establish myself in the industry if the opportunity were to arise.''

Is there anybody reading this who could make any suitable suggestions..? Email me on info@kimbaileyracing.com and I will forward onto Alex.

When things go wrong and will not come right, Though you do the best you can, When life looks black as the hour of night – A pint of plain is your only man.

When money’s tight and hard to get And your horse has also ran, When all you have is a heap of debt – A pint of plain is your only man.

When health is bad and your heart feels strange, And your face is pale and wan, When doctors say you need a change, A pint of plain is your only man.

When food is scarce and your larder bare And no rashers grease your pan, When hunger grows as your meals are rare – A pint of plain is your only man.

In time of trouble and lousey strife, You have still got a darlint plan You still can turn to a brighter life – A pint of plain is your only man.
