Plus 4 and raining when driving in.

Firstly all our thoughts must go to the families of Keith Palmer the brave policeman who was killed yesterday and the three others who have died who were run down by a lone Islamist extremist. So sad to see terror arrive on out streets again; we live in worrying times. Our thoughts and prayers for those also injured.

Yesterday at Warwick the ground was saturated. The rain we had here finally arrived at Warwick late morning so we took Pulling Power and Braw Angus out of their respective races. Jupiters Gift ran and finished down the field.. she hated the ground.

This morning we worked El Presente, Time For Another, By The Boardwalk and Jimmy The Jetplane. All the rest cantered as it was our easy day.

We have 4 runners today at two meetings. Braw Angus who I took out of Warwick yesterday runs today at Chepstow.. The plan was always to run yesterday but the ground was so bad that I felt 3 and ¼ mile just too far on that ground..

I am heading to Ludlow driving the trailer with Red Spinner in the back while Mat is heading to Chepstow to saddle Cascaye, Braw Angus and Glenforde. For my thoughts on my runners please click here.

Ludlow is right to be annoyed that they have so few runners for such great prize money. Red Spinner was entered when the race re opened and now runs while my two bumper horses wanted good ground so dont run. It is a difficult card to fill as they run two mares races and there have been many mares races recently and 2 mile chases which they have two are always low fillers. Haydock suffered yesterday as did Warwick..Time of year?

This email from John who has decided to stop subscribing to my blog.. in fact you don’t have to as my blog is free to read.. Anyway this was what he said....

''My membership is near its end. I am sorely disappointed to be honest. Some years back, Kim and I had some heated words. I was glad of it. At least it showed that he had a role in his blog... but now it has all become grey and tired. As for the stable, well I am sorry to say, yet another let down. Summer months spent waiting for "soft going" and when soft comes, the coughing and yearning for better ground. Image of carrot on stick comes to mind... Have enjoyed staff input, pics and films thoroughly and I wish everyone well in future. Perhaps now, without the burden of my expectations, stable form will improve and Kim's wit will seem more bearable after some more regular visits to winners enclosure... All the best everyone !! John

Here is a sample of my wit...

Little Bruce and Jenny are only 10 years old, but they know they are in love.

One day they decide that they want to get married, so Bruce goes to Jenny's father to ask him for her hand.

Bruce bravely walks up to him and says,  "Mr. Smith, me and Jenny are in love and I want to ask you for her hand in marriage."

Thinking that this was just the cutest thing,  Mr. Smith replies, "Well, Bruce, you are only 10. Where will you two live?"

Without even taking a moment to think about it,  Bruce replies,"In Jenny's room. It's bigger than mine and we can both fit there nicely."

Mr. Smith says with a huge grin, "Okay, then how will you live? You're not old enough to get a job. You'll need to support Jenny."

Again, Bruce instantly replies,"Our allowance,  Jenny makes five pounds a week and I make 10 pounds a week. That's about 60 pounds a month, so that should do us just fine."

Mr. Smith is impressed Bruce has put so much thought into this.  "Well, Bruce, it seems like you have everything figured out. I just have one more question. What will you do if the two of you should have little children of your own?"

Bruce just shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well, we've been lucky so far."

Mr. Smith no longer thinks the little shit is so adorable.

Thanks for all the positive comments re my new gallop camera.. and no we are not offering to name the horses for you I am afraid..It is there for you to admire the view and see the horses actually doing something.. and of course check that I am here too!

To finish.. Happy birthday to my old neighbour Ollie Sherwood..
