Plus 11 and dry when driving in.

I was meant to have been attending a racing dinner at The Turf Club last night but as I arrived at Kingham station my train was pulling out..

David Bass was in this morning and due to this prolonged dry spell we did not work that many as they are ready and waiting… for rain!

We were very busy here this morning..

Nick and Shan Cook were here third lot to see Nicks KBRP horses Balleticon and Younevercall.

Geri Worcester was here to see her KBRP horses Arthurs Sixpence and Vinndication

John and Mandy Battershall (Johns birthday) were also here third lot to see his KBRP horses Younevercall and Lord Apparelli

Frances Howard from Highclere Thoroughbred Racing brought Jane and Bernard Panton, Valerie Snow, Sylvia Jarvis, Mary Neale and Annette Oakes to see and meet their horse Alfie Corbitt.

Peter and Lois Burke and David Shuttle were also here..

Now for something out of the ordinary...

Sovereign Tourism (Smithsonian Journeys Group) brought 32 well meaning folk for a first visit followed by a chat from me at 10.. this was followed by tea/coffee biscuits served up by Maddie.

The above could only happen before the clocks change as after we just dont have enough time when racing starts so early.

Yes a very busy morning..

When I finished I headed to Fontwell and Mat to Worcester. Rose To Fame runs in the last at Fontwell and Commodore Barry runs at Worcester and for my thoughts on their chances please click here.

I see Matt Chapman has been upsetting the Aussies....As only he could!

The Racing Post reporters really like that awful word 'resurgent'.. Stable Tours...Philip Hobbs yesterday and Donald McCain today..

Ever wondered..

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens  our skin?

Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?

Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?

Why is it that Doctors call what they do 'practice'?
