Minus 2 and dry when driving in.
You really cannot beat Ascot when it comes to having a good day out with owners.
Win, lose or draw our owners are all well looked after and as a result always ask to come back.
The bar is set so high by Ascot that other racecourse must really worry… perhaps they don't?
The Boom Syndicate had a great day out and their horse Kilty Caul collected some prize money by finishing 4th.
Gordon Farr who runs the Boom Syndicate who are.. Lynne and Lyn Carslake, Minty Clinch, Sean Crowley, Gary Liptrot, Bill Paton Nicky Van Dijk and Gerry Ward.
Anyway Gordon knows what it takes for his merry band to enjoy their day and makes their involvement in his happy team fun.
Kalanisi Glen was rather disappointing as he hung very badly left all the way.
There was a very strong wind blowing across the racecourse which I don't believe was the reason.. Anyway he was very immature in his attitude and I think the whole experience was more than he could cope with.
There will be other and better days for him. Both horses won best turned out awards.
At Huntingdon Trojan Star ran a far better race and finished 2nd while Same Ole Trix was brought down half way through the race..Bugger!!
Saturday night at the Hannon’s party was a long one..Some great fancy dress outfits and some well know racing figures were hard to recognise. They had a great band..
It was good to see old mates and it was great to stay Martin and Kate F-G who used to be my next door neighbours in my early training days in East Ilsley.
With no runners yesterday it was case of catching up and recovering. Mrs B had me gardening all afternoon (not the sort of head down I had hoped for) whileI recorded the racing and tennis.. Djokovic was peerless against Federer.
Amateur jockey Henry Morshead was here for one lot this morning.
Michelle Dudderidge was here third lot this morning to see her KBRP horse the grey Kayf Tara Gelding.
We have two runners today.
Policy Breach heads to Ludlow while Gallery Exhibition heads to Kempton.. For my thoughts on their respective chances please click here.
This was overheard on Saturday night..
A well known trainer and his wife were standing on the edge of the dance floor watching jockey perform outrageously on the dance floor.... he was giving it his all.. Break dancing, moon walking, back flips, you name it he was doing it.. impressive..
The trainers wife turned to her husband and said..I don't know whether you know, but he proposed to me 10 years ago and I turned him down…
Her trainer husband, as a quick as a flash, replied by saying that he thought the jockey looked to be still celebrating that fact..
