25th January 2019

Plus 8 and dry when driving in.

Friendly Friday is what they call today.. Barmey Friday too.

Barmey could be because of the warm temperature when driving in or it could be England’s batting performance yesterday.

18 wickets fell in the Test .. not all England’s. It was England’s 12th worst batting day .. all out for 77!

Watching the cricket was absorbing and when I finally stopped watching it, I turned over to watch Chelsea win their game on penalties.. an interesting night of sport..

I enjoyed watching the West Indian Shimron Hetmyer bat.. he will go far... great attitude..

Anyway back to this morning.

Chris and Joanne Scotney (they train pacers in Perth, Australia) were here for a morning on the gallops and breakfast. Chris and Joanne are staying in The Frogmill and were impressed.

Vince Burmingham and Ken Price were here third lot to see Vince's KBRP horses .. Vince is involved in Arthur's Sixpence, Commodore Barry, Silver Kayf, Knockanrawley and Subway Surf

The new BHA ruling on hind shoes has been delayed.. who said that setting up a petition does not work? Are the BHA listening?

As we have some Australians in for the morning I thought I would share these with you..

These were posted on an Australian Tourism Website  and the answers are the actual responses by the website officials, who obviously have a great sense of humour..

Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia ? I have never seen it rain on TV, how do the plants grow? (UK).

A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them die.

Q: Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street? ( USA )

A:Depends how much you've been drinking.

Q:I want to walk from Perth to Sydney - can I follow the railroad tracks? ( Sweden )

A: Sure, it's only three thousand miles, take lots of water.

Q: Are there any ATMs (cash machines) in Australia ? Can you send me a list of them in Brisbane , Cairns , Townsville and Hervey Bay ? ( UK )

A: What did your last slave die of?

Q:Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Australia ? ( USA )

A: A-Fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Aus-tra-lia is that big island in the middle of the Pacific which does not ... Oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross. Come naked.

To finish.. I would be shot by my brother in law if I did not ask you to click here...
