Are any of you going to any Royal Ascot preview evenings?.. three weeks before the Cheltenham Festival Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls would have already done a few..But I have seen nothing advertised, although I probably have not looked too hard..

Perhaps Flat racing is that far apart from jump racing with its core support.

Jump racing has an obsessive loyal support, whereas flat racing probably does not?

As one trainer said 'Flat racing horses are run to breed... while jump racing horses are bred to run?

Mentioning racing.. Not something many papers do nowadays.. The Daily Telegraph, which I read, has now stopped displaying full raceccards, if there are too many meetings to fit on a half page..Yesterday 3 of the 5 meetings failed to appear.. Sadly a sign of the Times... Well I have not looked in that paper, but I assume it has probably gone already!

Voyburg heads there for the amateur riders hurdle race and Lauren Keen Hawkins, who won at Cheltenham on Dandy Dan, has her first ride for me and her first over hurdles.. two firsts, and there is a third, as she is the first lady (jockey) rider to work for me too.. good luck all round and for my thoughts please click here.

Today is one of those days that only comes around once a year.. a bit like Christmas, but this is one not so memorable.
