Plus 16 and dry when driving in

Maddie will be blogging for the next couple of days as Clare and I are staying up in Perth.

To finish.. a very happy birthday to Matthew Nicholls who celebrates his 40th today

Morning all, Kim has let me loose on the blog again, hopefully I can keep you entertained for the next couple of days!

It's all go here at Thorndale Farm, Andrews Bowen are here to start putting the new gallop in and our horses are enjoying their exercise on our round gallop.

We had a brillliant couple of days with the Cotswold Film Company who were here with all their kit, including the drone which created some brilliant aerial shots of Thorndale Farm and all of our facilities. We look forward to sharing their creativity with you in the near future.

Nearly all of the horses are now back in from their summer holidays, with lack of grass and an abundance of annoying flies, I am sure they are happy to be back in.

We also have three new staff members, Ryan Corbett and Will Hodkinson have joined us after completing their courses at The Northern Racing College and we have Alfie Martindale back with us full time when previously only riding out last summer. It is great to see that there is still an appetite for jobs in racing following an industry staff shortage not that long ago.

Joke of the day..............

A woman meets with her lover, who also happens to be her husbands best friend. They make love for hours and afterwards as they lie in bed, the phone suddenly rings. Since it's the womans house she picks up the reciever, the lover listens, only hearing her side of the conversation

"Hello? Oh, hi...I'm so glad that you called...Really? Thats wonderful...well, I'm happy to hear you're having such a great time... oh that sounds terrific..Love you too, ok, bye-bye"

She hangs up the telephone and her lover asks "who was that?",

"Oh," she replies, "That was just my husband telling me about the wonderful time he's having on his fishing trip with you!"
