Plus 7 and dry when driving in.

It was a stunning start to the Bank holiday. Mist in the valley below.

David Bass and local farmer Edward Cookson were in this morning to ride out a couple of lots.

Third lot this morning (9.30)

Sue Maine was here to see her KBRP horse Shinobi.

Peter Bennet-Jones was here to see his imposing Prince Llywelyn. I think PL is the biggest horse in the yard..a good 17.2.

Paul and Elizabeth Kellar were here to see Mon Palois.

Where do I start with the cricket.. Lets just say we have had the most amazing summer of cricket.

There have been huge highs and some extreme lows. The World Cup was the high and yesterday performance at Headingley was the absolute pits, yes the lowest of the low..

Thankfully I missed a great deal of it as John and Penny Perriss, Clare and I had a rather good lunch at The Plough in Cold Aston.. John and Penny were heading home that way after their visit yesterday to see their horses.

Seen In today paper.. One of the schools in Cheltenham St Edwards..have fallen foul for doing something good.. stupid world we currently  live in.

Racing suffered two loses yesterday. This years Champion hurdle winner Espoir D'Allen and last season flat horse of the yard Roaring Lion both lost their lives..

At York Battaash broke the speed track record, while Stradivarius sauntered to another million pound bonus..Weatherby’s must have regretted offering a Million pound bonus for stayers.. Stradivarius has now won it twice..

Here are a few sillies for the weekend

I bought some shoes with memory soles – it doesn’t seem to have made much difference to my memory!

The car manufacturer said that the driver’s seat holds memory – and I thought my memory was in my head!  

By the way, I thought getting old would take longer.

Some things are better left unsaid – I usually realize that right after I say them.

A wise man once said – nothing!
