Plus 8 and dry when driving. It was certainly not dry overnight as we had heavy rain.

Winning races puts smiles on owners faces and yesterday Glen Swire had a smile on his face after Gallery Exhibition won at Kempton.

Glen, who has just returned home after a spell in hospital was delighted to be able to shout his horse home from his sitting room, even if his trainer had suggested to him that GE had no chance..

It was a great, if unexpected win for the GFH Partnership of Glen and Caroline Swire, Elizabeth Parker-Jervis and Gerard Clinton. GE has two bad runs behind him and I suppose this race rather panned out for him as they went quick and the main horses ran disappointingly.. Who cares a winner for one of my longest servicing, and most loyal owners is always important.

The horse we expected to win at Ludlow did not… Policy Breach started hanging so badly 4 from home that Richie McLernon could not steer him and he failed to keep him straight going into the last that he ran out. The vets checked him over after and found nothing wrong; I am sure something will appear as to why he did what he did.. He is certainly not a monkey.

The ups and downs of racing? Both horses are fine this morning although my ego is bruised from some of the emails I was sent ..you would have thought I had planned both results!

Carol Bailey was here second lot this morning to see her two KBRP horses Boolavard King and Our Belle Aime.

Conor Shoemark and Tom Bellamy were in this morning. We worked Monkhouse and Mr Puck.We alsop jumped Nam Hai, Pulling Power, The Drinkymeister, Milord, Ballyknock Lad and Dueling Banjos.

We have no runners today although it is normal service here with Graham Potts our vet in for his weekly visit. Scoping a few up coming runners.

This weeks movers and shakers in the handicap charts are...Crazy Jack down 2 to 123, Kilty Caul down 1 to 114, Flemensmix up another 2 without leaving his box to 115, Trojan Star up 3 to 110, Aliandy enters at 109 and Mr Puck enters at 115
