Archie and I visited Hawk bats yesterday afternoon.

Archie's school (Cothill) are kindly presenting him with a bat of his choice as a way of marking his achievement of hitting 133 not out.. Only 2 boys have hit the famous 100 in the last 16 years and that is the prize they receive when reaching that magical number of runs. Mike who is making Archie's bat was immensely helpful. It was a most interesting visit.

On the way home we called in with Martin Jones to see all the horses he is breaking in for me ..

Martin and his team are excellent at breaking youngsters to being ridden and my current crop certainly look well and we very much dream about their future.. exciting times with young horses as all is before them and a good start in ridden life is hugely important, and that is where Martin and his team come in.

Talking youngsters the Tattersall’s Derby Sales start tomorrow.. 

A two day sale of the top unbroken horses in Ireland and a few from England...expect some fireworks..I am heading there.

A man has six children and is very proud of his achievement.

He is so proud of himself, that he starts calling his wife,' Mother of Six' in spite of her objections.

One night, they go to a party. The man decides that it IS time to go home and wants to find out if his wife is ready to leave as well. He shouts at the top of his voice, 'Shall we go home Mother of Six?'

His wife, irritated by her husband's lack of discretion, shouts right back, 'Any time you're ready, Father of Four.'
