Plus 14 and spitting with rain when driving in.

Jockey Tom Bellamy was in this morning to ride out two lots.

Busy here this morning.

Iain and Angela Bell were here third lot to see their KBRP horses Knockanrawley and Our Belle Amie.

Steve Winter and Paul Monger were here third lot to see their horse Derrintogher Bliss. Steve also saw his KBRP horses Younevercall and Silver Kayf and his recent purchase Winter Time.

Fourth lot i.e. late morning, Duncan Williams and his daughter Ella were here to see Duncan’s horse Glenforde. They then went on to Oxford watch Shrewsbury play Oxford..

Bank holidays are apparently times for getting away..My PA Kerry Bellamy is in Salcome. My assistant Mat is at the Test match at Headingley while Clare and Archie are on the Isle of Harris..

Talking watch. Test match more interesting.. Perhaps the sun made the West Indians try harder. As for the big fight.. Not for me. Fake sport.

York races superb again yesterday. Sadly not every horse is a winner, as we all know there are winners and losers in this life, but racing should always remain fun..

The following email arrived from Ian, a first time owner, whose horse we felt was not good enough to win, although she had been placed..The horse has moved on to a new life after racing in polo...

'So how's it been. Have we won a race, no. Did we make a loss, yes. Knowing what we know now, would we do it again, absolutely.

Winning would just be the bonus.

Being part (a small part) of a professional outfit in this industry is to be cherished. The major fun is the whole experience, yes going racing with your horse but also checking the blog, waiting for the weekly update, intently checking the other horses in the yard, feeling part of the whole bigger operation.

We were shouting when Charbel turned the corner in front at Cheltenham, and gasping when he knuckled on landing.

I do believe partnerships or syndicates are the way forward to get more and more people (of all ages) into the sport because frankly it's great fun, ( my thanks go to David Silk also)

So for now this one ends but I sincerely hope it's only au revoir.'

We have no runners this weekend.

Our village show this afternoon...Brockhampton Show. Dogs on parade

Have a good one and see you on Monday.

You might like to watch this if you are heading to a restaurant over the bank holiday..

Finally a very happy Birthday to my old mate Colin ‘Bud’ Booth..Ever youthful.. a hard man to keep up with, but fun trying.
