Plus 7 and dry when driving in.

It was not dry at Market Rasen yesterday, and it was certainly not dry when celebrating Bobhopeornohope’s gallant win in the Chestnut Homes Novices' Limited Handicap Chase.

A delighted owner in John Perriss, who suggested that we help his horses jumping technique after he put in a poor jumping performance at Sandown when 4th there a month ago..

I suggested Laura Collett and yesterday all the hard work paid off as he jumped well and stayed on to win by just over a length… Bob is not a bad jumper by any means, but he finds it easier to get to the bottom of his fences, so Laura made him stretch, which helped..

David Bass was good and left Bob alone as Laura suggested, so all in all it was a thoroughly deserving result.

One runner and one winner.. a good day in the office..

It was good to see Market Rasen's ex Chairamn Bud Booth at the races ..Sadly Bud is not in the best of health but it was very good to see him looking so cheery.. always an amusing man

We have two runners today. One For Rosie heads to Chepstow while Phantom Getaway heads to Wetherby and for my thoughts please click here.

Cricket..Better news..No it was not...Cold Turkey..

My wife asked me if I had ever seen the dog bowl..

I said: To be honest, I didn't even know he played cricket..

To finish.. Happy birthday to Cherry Jones..
