Plus 9, raining and windy when driving in. 16 mm overnight..A wet day ahead..

Lots of driving yesterday.. Wetherby is hardly just up the M4.. Having said that it is a good racecourse when you get there.. although Peter Kerr says it is not a lucky one for his KBRS horses.

After yesterdays two runners failing to complete the course he might be right?

Does He Know was very ring rusty and although I had hoped he would have run better, he probably will come on hugely for the run… Annoyingly Fair Frontieres fell at the last when in third place. He was actually running a very decent race and certainly did not deserve to fall.. Thankfully he and David Bass were fine after.

What an extraordinary King George?. Assuming you watched it so you would probably agree. A good result for racing as Hewick has a cult following..Hewick is a bit of an odd ball, a bit like his lovable trainer..

Boxing Day saw some really terrific racing all round the country and good crowds bar Aintree which according to one trainer described the racecourse as 'empty'..apparently Liverpool was dead.

It will make interesting reading to see yesterdays racecourse attendances..

This morning brings in David Bass  to ride out..a usual vet visit and yesterdays mover and shaker in the weekly BHA handicap charts was Bobhopeornohope who went down 4 to 135..

We have just the one runner today at Chepstow.. First Flow who hates going left handed runs there.. yes it is a left handed racecourse, but with the Peterborough Chase been abandoned and not rescheduled he has no suitable options..
