Plus 8 and dry when driving in.
Saturday was wet, wet and wet.. Both Doncaster and Cheltenham suffered..
At not ‘sunny Donny’.. Station Master ran well until 3 from home and then just tired in the ground.. better from him in the spring.. he finished 6th.. Thumb Stone Blues like wise and will now probably have a wind op.
At Cheltenham The Last Samuri ran a blinder to finish 4th on horrid ground..
It was a fabulous Grand National trial as all he did was stay and jump.
I really don’t think I have come across a tougher horse than The Last Samuri.. Every time he runs he gives his best.. Always tired after a race but no sooner than he has recovered he is back on it ready to go again.. yes he really is a horse in a lifetime .. we just love him.
Sinead who looks after him won best turned out.. again.. well done Sinead and Leigh.. top team.
Cocklebarrow was a resounding success yesterday.. Tropical weather and huge crowds.. Well done to the home team for such great organisation..
Our Liam Carter who was having only his second ever ride finished a well deserved third... A great result for him and a full team of Thorndale staff were there to support.
Monday and one runner at Hereford.. Another Venture runs for Racing For Maggies and for my thoughts please click here.
i hope this was not your Saturday night out.
