Plus 6, windy and raining when driving in.
The Milan Girl winning last night at Bangor made it 50 not out.. with two balls to spare. Brilliant.
We have had a good season and a huge thanks to all my hard working staff, Peter Kerr and loyal and supportive owners. And jockeys.. Talking Jockeys Mikey Hamill leaves today .. Mikey heads back to Ireland and joins Henry de Bromhead. We will miss him..
Yes The Milan Girl was our 50th winner last night at Bangor. Owned by Paul and Clare Rooney. Another good positive ride by David Bass
We like Bangor and although I did not go (I was at the Cheltenham Sales) frankly driving to Bangor on a Friday night is not a journey to savour.
They are good at Bangor as they look after you well, and Jeannie Chantler had a photo of The Milan Girl emailed across 20 minutes after the race.. No other racecourse does that, or gives that sort of service.
Yesterdays Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales might not have had the sale stopper of some of their other sales but they still broke records.
Aiden Murphy and I bought two horses. Lot 8 Does He Know who will now be 'for sale' and lot 53 Bobhopeornohope for John Perriss.
Back to today. David Bass was in to ride out two lots .. he heads off on holiday to Spain tomorrow for a few days.
This morning visitors from CD Tours included Debbie, Ron and daughter Hanson, Alexandra Gregory, John Pritchard, Stephen and Adam Kensett, plus Margery and Alan Hill
Norman Carter and his wife Zoe’s cousin Rosie were also here second lot to see Norman's horses Sunblazer and Diamond Gait.
Stuart Ballantyne, daughter and friend were also here second lot (coming from York) to see their KBRP horses Donnie Brasco and Arthurs Sixpence.
John and Penny Perriss were here third lot to see John’s new horse Bobhopeornohope and Rocky Treasure, Illuminated Beauty, Lady Of The Night and Lots Of Luck while Penny saw her Station Master and Wandrin Star.
Sandown the last day of the season.. Finals day and presentation day. Champions picking up trophies.
We have two runners there. Charbel and Younevercall and for my thoughts on their chances please click here.
It doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that.
Many thanks for all the messages re hitting 50..
Have a great weekend and see you on Monday.
