Plus 11 and drizzling when driving in.
The ground certainly was not as described at Newbury yesterday.. It was very soft. Shame they had not said that before as Twelve Roses would have stayed at home. He was far from happy on that soft ground… There will be other days for him on better ground.
It had to be very soft for The Drinkymeister to have run so well. TDM jumped brilliantly for his first venture over fences and there will be a big race in him over the winter now that he is qualified to run in handicaps..
At Taunton By The Boardwalk also found that the softer ground on a tight track, in a competitive novice handicap, off his current high mark, hard work..Please a few pounds off and he will be back with a bang in the spring.. Yes a few pounds please Mr Handicapper otherwise he will have to run again.
The yard was up early this morning as our five runners at Doncaster left here at just after 5.30am..Those who went racing were up before you and I mucking out the horses they look after before going..
We also have a runner at Newbury. Molly A Diva heads there and on the way there Younevercall was dropped off with Chris King/Yogi Briesner for a few days of intensive jumping
For my thoughts on all our runners today please click here..
I am heading to Doncaster today and staying with Ian and Tocky Mckie tonight for Newcastle tomorrow and then staying away again to go to Carlisle on Sunday… I feel like a traveling salesman!!
Talking that..
