Huge turn out for Sylvia Dibben’s service yesterday, standing room only. I stood with Robert and Karrie Fanshawe..Robert's uncle Brian Fanshawe died on Thursday..

Nothing I enjoy more than wandering through fields of relaxed racehorses on a barmy summers evening watching all our horses on their holidays. They look well and in last nights sun they were relaxed and happy.

I then relaxed myself by meeting Clare and Archie for a sundowner in The Frogmill..

Frankie Dettori briliant again yesterday ..He gave The Oaks winner Anapurna was given a masterful ride.

David Bass was in this morning to ride work on Cresswell Legend. It was his last piece of work before his important engagement at Perth next Sunday..The Sam Morshead Perth Gold Cup.

Having watched him we then left for Garthorpe in Leicestershire where Archie is riding in another pony race. Our only runner of the weekend..

Debbie Hanson was here mid morning to see Shinobi.. Such a lovely looking horse..Shinobi is now out at grass.. Poor chap arrived here as a colt and is now a gelding.. Summer grass is time for him to forget and recover!!

Huge day for Hughie Morrison. His Telecaster has been supplemented for todays Investec Derby and it would be a very popular result if his horse were to go past the line in front. The small trainer against the mighty battalions of Ireland..

It will be interesting to see the ITV viewing figures after todays race. There is huge competition in sport today and the armchair viewer has so much to watch. Cricket, Tennis , Boxing, Football..

A long time ago we had Empires run by Emperors . Then we had Kingdoms run by Kings and now we have countries….
