Plus 4 and dry when driving in.

What a great weekend for Colin Tizzard and Gordon Elliott. Not such a good one for KCB.. Too many seconds.

Bangor is stunning on a sunny day and that's what it was on Saturday.

Derrintogher Bliss was having his first run for 400 odd days ran well but found one too good. No excuses, he was fit and ready for the day but second makes the feeling of defeat worse.. well for me.. although his owners were rightly thrilled with his run.

DB jumped well and Tom Bellamy rode him well.

The worry is always how they come out of their first race for 400 odd days off. Yes there was a problem which meant he needed time away from the racecourse.. thankfully DB seems fine after Saturday's run, so now we can plan for the future.

Monday morning and we worked Thum Stone Blues, Royal Supremo, Blazon, Minella Warrior, Harry Topper and Knockanrawley.

Great to have had Archie back for the weekend .. he headed back to France, via Heathrow, at 4am this morning.

We have no runners today.

Louise Gaunt sent this one over.

A drunk man who smelled of beer sat down on a bus seat next to a priest.

The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading.

After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked, "Say, Father, what causes arthritis?"

"My Son, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol and a contempt for your fellow man."

"Well, I'll be damned," the drunk muttered, returning to his paper.

The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized.

"I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?"

"I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does."
