Plus 12 and dry when driving in.

I am sure you know how I feel this morning? Happy? Very..

Charbel was magical yesterday at Uttoxeter. What a way to win a beginners chase?

Charbel was taking on some very good horses and although he was not out of his class we did think and we did hope he would win. He jumped for fun and just loved his race. Three top novices jumping the last together and we prevailed.

It was probably the highest quality field every to run in a novice chase at Uttoxeter and it turned out to be as good a race as they hoped.. David Bass was confident and gave Charbel a superb ride. Great result for Julie and David Martin .. A very happy Julie was on hand to watch.

Charbel looked magnificent in the paddock before the race and won the best turned out award, as did our last runner Aunty Ann.

I walked the course and took Mr Brinkley out. It was really good 'watered' ground and I was worried about running such a big horse, who had already shown heavy ground form on yesterdays ground.. When in doubt pull out. Annoying for his owners Martyn and Elaine Booth, but hopefully it will rain..well it will..

Milan Express ran a better race than at Hereford; she finished mid div but she learnt more yesterday and will progress. Aunty Ann will improve for the race.. Yes a good day.. All of yesterdays runners are fine this morning.

The downside of yesterday was that I saw a great deal of Matt Chapman!!

Saturday and a work morning. Jockeys David Bass and Tom Bellamy were in for two lots. Pitch black first lot.

This morning guests from CD Tours  were Lauren Orr, Ben Wiltshire, Alison Sheen, Jac Hobbs, Jean and Peter Holland.

Second lot Chris Hill was here to see our latest KBRP horse Fifty Bob... two shares left

John Benson was here to see his KBRP horses Chateau Robin, Silver Kayf and Our Belle Amie.

David and Lorraine Keyte called in to see their horse Harry Topper.

We have one runner this weekend and that is today at Ascot. Un Ace heads there to run in their main race the Sodexo Gold Cup.. For my thoughts on his chances please click here.

Don't for get to come along to tomorrows Cotswold Team Chase if you are in the area..

Andrew was watching his father, a Vicar, write a sermon.

'How do you know what to say?' Andrew asked.

'Why, God tells me' , the father replied.

'Oh, then why do you keep crossing things out?'

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday. Dont forget that the clocks go back one hour tonight..
