Plus 10 and the sun was shining brightly when driving in.

I love Herefordshire as a county and I will love it even more from October when their racecourse returns to jump racing.

I drove past the racecourse yesterday on the way to Andrew Bengough’s and it looked just the same as the last time I was there.. Was it when Harry Topper won his bumper?. I must look it up.

Ascotdeux Nellerie and Laval Noir looked well.

Lunch or rather a quick snack with Laval Noir’s co owner Andrew, his mother Bridget, fellow owner Patrick Bailey, who as you know is no relation and old mate David Manley..  A few laughs and then home.. Traffic on a Friday night even in that part of the country was bad.

Last night’s open day for Jessica Flemings Red Barn Stud was fun.. Fabulous place and when it is all finished it will be eye watering.Their new all weather manage is now finished and Gregor Knox gave a jumping display. Good to see Pete and Lavinia Sidgwick and of course many others.

Piers Belmont displayed some of his stunning horse photos in one of the barns.

Returning home I watched the highlights of the Wales football match.. Not expecting them to win it was hard to believe what I was watching and it was ever harder to believe what I was doing.. Jumping up and down shouting for Wales to win.. And they did.. What a great game and what charisma and passion they have as a side..

We took Such A Legend and Ballyknock Lad to Lambourn this morning. Our gallop is still being refurbished so the trip was useful. David Bass and Richie McLernon did the honours..

No Runners today, in fact there is no jump racing. I will be watching Sandown in the hope that Clive Cox’s dream continues with My Dream Boat..

My old mate Sam Morshead is staying tonight. It will good to see him down South. Sam saw his dream hotel finished and opened by Richard Johnson at his old racecourse Perth this week..
