Plus 8 and dry when driving in.

It is a Bank Holiday and yesterday Mrs B and I headed off to have lunch with Mikey and Ginny Elliot..The thought was good but the drive there was simply dreadful..

We had to travel past Bouton on the Water and through Stow on the Wold and frankly I have never seen local traffic like it.

It seems the whole country had decided that the Cotswolds was a place to decamp  for the weekend.

I have nothing against showing off this beautiful part of the country but never have I seen so many cars.

Unsurprisingly we were late… Mark and Antonia Davies (El Presente) and Rydian Morgan Jones and Kirsten Loyd were the other guests..  A good lunch and fun..

Monday morning and very fresh horses.

We worked Commodore Barry and Red River.. Both are stepping up for a run late September..

Nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing my ex racehorses enjoying their life after racing.. Mrs B is so good at finding suitable homes for our old warriors and it is so important that we do..It is a difficult and hugely important role

You would have seen the picture of The Last Samuri enjoying his new life with my daughter on Saturdays blog .

Yesterday Georgia Self sent me some stunning photos of Keith and Liz Ellis’s horse Abbreviate.who was rehomed 18 months ago... Georgia treasures Abbreviate and has given him the most loving home possible..

I tweeted the photo of TLS  on Saturday and no sooner that I had than a photo was sent of Strong Vision, aged 30 still enjoying his life arrived on my screen.. SV was rehomed some 20 years ago when Iain Buchan and I decided that his racing days were over, so it was good to see that he is still going strong and enjoying life....Thanks Rod Dawson for the info..

The Retraining Of Racehorses, The Racehorse Santuary, Greatwood, Moorcroft and many other wonderful horses charities have been such a huge success even in these difficult times..it has opened up much needed areas of new lives for our old friends..
